The Hummingbird

The Hummingbird, a tiny maroon colored convertible, was created by Talmadge Judd in 1945. Judd (seated in car) built the midget car in his backyard workshop. Judd, owner of Judd’s Lockshop, was known as Kingsport’s “Mr. Fix-It”. The car attracted worldwide fame after being featured in Popular Mechanics. The Hummingbird got around 50 miles per gallon and weighed 1,350 pounds. The car was featured at county fairs around the region.
