March is Red Cross Month.
The American Red Cross uses this month to promote its services to the public and for a variety of fund-raising events.

The charter for a Red Cross Chapter in Kingsport was granted on July 11, 1917 with J. Fred Johnson, the “Father of Kingsport” as chairman.
Today, the chapter serves western Sullivan County, Carter, Claiborne, Hawkins, Hancock, Johnson, Unicoi, and Washington Counties. For more information on our local chapter please visit http://www.redcrossnetn.org/.
