Kingsport Big Read

A Month of Tomfoolery kicks off tomorrow, April 1!

Join the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Kingsport and other partners in Kingsport’s Big Read as they kick-off the month with the Mayor’s Proclamation of a Month of Tomfoolery at 11:45 AM.

The kick-off will be at the Kingsport Renaissance Center, 1200 East Center Street and will include book give-aways as well a fence to white wash.

Kingsport’s Big Read will last throughout the month of April with events for everyone. The Big Read is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts, designed to restore reading to the center of American culture. The NEA presents The Big Read in partnership with the Institute of Museum and Library Services and in cooperation with Arts Midwest. The Big Read brings together partners across the country to encourage reading for pleasure and enlightenment.

So be sure to pick up a copy of Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and join in the fun!
